The exhibition is based on photos and objects from that period.

Saint-Remacle church, built in 1838, was inspired by Roman basilicas. The limestone façade is dominated by a square tower. Inside, you can admire a coffered ceiling, a solid oak pulpit decorated with statues of Saints Raymond, Edward and Remacle, and an imposing marble high altar surrounded by the Fathers of the Church in the choir. We invite you to discover a place of worship over 900 years old. Set in a tree-lined square is a superb little church with a single nave, surrounded by its old cemetery, mysterious architecture, partially carved columns and walls adorned with tempera paintings. Inspired by an initiative of the Rouen diocese and in partnership with it, the aim of this project is to introduce artists' works (paintings, sculptures, photographs, etc.) into the church and bring together the "sacred" dimension of the studio and that of the place of worship.This year, painter Marianne Laurencis will be exhibiting 12 paintings, all inspired by the village and its surroundings: "Si Vergnies m'était conté".

Easily accessible for PRMs, Saint-Martin is one of the town's three main churches. It was built in neo-Gothic style between 1907 and 1914. Since 2002, the building has been part of Wallonia's exceptional heritage. With its 97 m high tower, it is the tallest church building in Wallonia.
