Exhibition inspired by the creative genius of Albert Van huffel, his choice of materials and the art that can form an overall concept with them, then and now. Works by artists from the 20th and 21st centuries translate these periods characterised by rapid change.The exhibition can be seen at the Museum of Modern Religious Art from 28 March on Fridays and Sundays from 2pm to 4pm.

The beautiful multicoloured embroidery deserves to be brought out of the darkness (for a while). In addition, the statues of saints that were taken from the attic and given a place of honour in our church also deserve special attention. They are masterpieces of woodcarving art. -

With this spring concert, three choirs join forces. AIRétile, school choir of Sint-Jan Berchmanscollege Westmalle & KoSiLe, choir from Sint-Lenaarts and our own Royal Sint-Pieterszangkoor. These choirs are conducted by Guido Van der Veken and Sara Van Gucht. Together, the youth choir and the two adult choirs will perform a varied programme. The programme includes works by Francesco Guerrero, Theodore Dubois, Giovanni Palestrina, Edvard Grieg, Daan Manneke, Benjamin Britten, Anton Bruckner, Francis Poulenc et Peter Philips. 31 MAY - 1 JUNE 2025The Hanswijk Basilica will open its crypt doors on Saturday 31 May. The largest collection of votive children's portraits in Flanders is kept here. Works made hundreds of years ago to thank or beg for healing from the patroness of the church, Our Lady of Hanswijk. Throughout the day, musical interludes by young musicians from the Stedelijk Conservatorium will also take place in the basilica.

In a period before Belgium existed, Laurent-Benoît Dewez (1731-1812) was undoubtedly the most prominent architect in our region. As court architect to the Austrian governor Charles of Lorraine, he was known for his contributions to neoclassical architecture, a style popular during the late 18th century. More specifically, his oeuvre was dominated by the creation of a unitary ‘Eglise Belgique’.
