As part of our church’s millennium celebrations, which we are marking over a five-year period, we are dedicating 2026 to a restoration project for our oldest patron saint statue.
To fund this project, we are appealing for donations via a crowdfunding campaign run by the Qualité Villages Wallonie association.

‘Deep Roots in Turnhout’ is a project where art, heritage, nature, wonder and movement come together. The project is inspired by the paintings of Turnhout-based artist Nele Van der Linden.
The exhibition is linked to a walk through the town past remarkable trees, as well as to all sorts of creative activities.
The project runs from 16 October to 15 November 2026.

The vocal ensemble Cantat was formed in the autumn of 2006. Six singing enthusiasts were approached to perform at a concert in Sint-Lambrechts-Woluwe, organised by the Davidsfonds.
Under its former name, Turnhout’s ‘Vooicaal Ensembelken’, the small choir gave performances of religious and secular music for many occasions: church services, providing musical entertainment at receptions and anniversaries, charity concerts, etc.

Following several major commemorations in 1989, 1995, 2001 and 2012, we continue to remember each year this significant battle for Turnhout and for Belgium, at the beautiful site in the heart of Turnhout where it took place.We are pleased to involve a variety of cultural partners in this event, including our carillonneur, the Turnhout Patriots, the Municipal Music Academy, dance group Zonne, the Turnhout Giants, the Pizzicanto choir, the music ensemble De Turnhoutse Snaar, and, where appropriate, a guest speaker.
