VocAnt was founded in Antwerp in 1991 and was led with great passion by Philippe Poot for many years. Over the years, the choir has also worked with a number of conductors, including Kamiel Cooremans, Patrick De Brabandere, Patrick Windmolders and Johan De Lombaert. With around 30 singers from across the province of Antwerp and beyond, the choir has successfully participated in several choral competitions. The free Tuesday afternoon concerts in Turnhout in July have been a huge success since 2012. Our St Peter’s Church has attracted countless listeners to enjoy the beautiful sounds of the carillon and organ, and to chat after the concerts over a nice pint of Corsendonk or a delicious organ lunch. Liam Flood is an American student from Chicago. He studied chemical engineering at university. He later moved to Washington D.C. to work as an engineer.
