The parish of Troisvierges-Weiswampach decided some years ago to use this church as a "family and youth church", changing the traditional seating arrangement in favour of a communal form. The youth choir has its seat here.
St. Gertrude of Nivelles is depicted with mice. Legend has it that her prayers drove away mice and rats.
Most of the stained glass windows are by Camille Croat from the 1950s, a few smaller ones by Gustave Zanter. They depict the typical saints venerated in the Ösling.
St. Lambert, patron saint of the church, was bishop of Tongern-Maastricht in the 7th century and died as a martyr; the famous St. Lambert's Cathedral stood in Liège.
The northern part of the Ösling belonged to the diocese of Liège until modern times, where this saint is still venerated today.
The old communion bench, which has been preserved, as well as the balustrades from the gallery show beautiful wrought iron work.
Churches are places of quiet that fascinate us. The small village churches of the Ösling region are often the oldest and most attractive buildings in those villages. They can tell stories; through to today, this is where the world of religious iconography and art come together. Discover these jewels of the Troisvierges and Weiswampach communes in relaxed fashion, on a richly-varied circular tour by e-bike. The pure enjoyment of culture and landscape in the Nature Park Our!
