Every year, the Open Church Days celebrate the religious heritage on the first weekend in June. Don't resist this call for discovery during this 16th edition.

3 & 4 June 2023Philippe Roelandt will play a selection of works from the 19th and 20th centuries, highlighting the different sound palettes of the Merklin organ (a leading figure in 19th century Belgian organ building). Free participation: the funds raised will contribute to the restoration of the instrument. -
3 & 4 June 2023The Sainte-Cécile choir from Roodt/Syre will sing a number of pieces chosen for the occasion, enhanced by organ pieces by the organist Ernest Santer.Choir Concert

3 & 4 June 2023Musical storytelling with music from the Middle Ages, Renaissance and Baroque by Aline Hopchet and Piet Van Steenbergen. These two musical centipedes join forces and take you on a voyage of discovery to strange instruments and enchanting music of the past and present. Naragonia is a Flemish folk group, which originated at the Andanças Festival in Portugal in 2003. The duo Pascale Rubens and Toon Van Mierlo perform quirky folk with refined yet solid energy. Pascale plays on diatonic accordion, violin and vocals, Toon on bagpipes, flutes, clarinet, saxophone and diatonic accordion. Echoes is the fusion of two musicians performing echoes of well-known and lesser-known gems from early and contemporary music. Tine Potters is a music teacher at the Thomas More teacher training college in Turnhout and teaches students to express themselves expressively through music, dance and drama.
