Open Churches Days at
Protestant Church 't Keerske

For Severine, everything started with depression-inducing stress in her childhood. Gradually, she climbed out of the valley. She learned to handle herself skilfully. Supported by family, she was later able to live alone and independently.

As a child, Severien loved to draw. Actually, she wanted to go to art school but everyone advised her against it. Yet the creative microbe never went away. Hence, she joined the art studio 'Ardéfoo'. Art has always helped her, she could indulge in it. Artistic activity has always fascinated her.
Severien prefers working with acrylic paint on canvas. One moment she is bubbling with inspiration, the next she remains receptively lost in her dreams. She usually works abstractly and gives her work an inner meaning in response to her life experiences, for instance around the death of her beloved father.

Severien also participated in exhibitions with 'Ardéfoo' including in Bruges. She enjoys the visitors' appreciation. Once in a while she manages to sell one of her works. That makes her happy.

Her motto was and remains 'Dare to be yourself'. Art helped her experience herself more freely. Her life tracks back to the colours she loves.

SEVERIEN TACK (1973) will exhibit her work at the Protestant Church 't Keerske during the Open Church Days. You are cordially invited to the themed service 'Like a ladder in heaven' on Sunday 2 June at 10.00am in 't Keerske, followed by the festive opening of the exhibition with a snack and a drink. This festive worship service will be graced by the Protestant church choir. The church will also be open for viewing on Saturdays 01-06, 08-06, 15-06, 22-06, 29-06, 06-07, 13-07 and 20-07, from 2pm to 6pm each time.
