Antoon Van Dyck's four-hundred-year-old masterpiece "The Calvary" will be restored during summer 2024. This will take place in the church itself and during the Open Church Days, the restorers will be happy to talk to you and you can literally come and look on their hands. Those who know the vicissitudes of this painting, looted by the French revolutionaries, hidden during the World Wars... realise that it is a miracle that it can still be admired in Dendermonde today. The restoration will be a feat that can only be achieved through the cooperation of many partners. A real nod to the impossible !
