Beguinage | 1599 | Gothic | Catholic Church
425 years ago, in early July 1599, the first stone was laid for the construction of St Catherine's Church in the Beguinage of Herentals. To commemorate this, children will be able to work with building blocks on Saturday and Sunday: build the church with Lego blocks or let your imagination run wild and design your own (church) building. The crazier, the better? Children can do a children's treasure hunt in the church to discover the works of art in the church. On Sunday 2 June, you can enjoy a performance in the church. Our experienced city guides will be on hand to explain the construction and history of the church.
