Find a church

Looking back on the Open Churches Day 2024

The 17th edition of the Open Churches Days, on June 1st and 2nd, was once again an ideal opportunity for a (renewed) acquaintance with the religious heritage of our country. Families, art and history enthusiasts, or just tourists: they eagerly accepted our invitation to go and explore one or more churches.

The participating churches offered a wide range of activities: from tours to concerts to theatre performances and pop-up exhibitions, some tailored to children and some not. There were initiators that took a very innovative approach, with a visit in virtual reality, an escape game, a moment of quiet reflection, or a nighttime visit. And what about a tai chi session or a scale model of the church building in lego?

We received overwhelming feedback from the visitors, who mentioned the enormous diversity of the program and the quality of the activities as their highlights. The warm reception and helpful volunteers also received high praise.

A sincere thank you goes out to everyone who answered the evaluation questions!

Mark you calendars for our next appointment on Saturday May 31st and Sunday June 1st 2025 for the next Open Churches Days! We can already reveal the theme for our 18th edition, which will be ‘From basement to attic’.

Until then!
