In Borgloon's Sint-Odulphuskerk, historian Xavier Lenaers takes you on a fascinating lecture about the suisse - the imposing orderly in the church. Standing on the heights of Liège for over a thousand years, the Romanesque church of Saint-Gilles first received the prayers of a community of monks, then those of a parish of miners and finally, today, those of dozens of pilgrims who come to invoke Saint Gilles or to meditate in front of the relics of Blessed Eugénie Joubert. A visit stripped of all encyclopaedic detail, but sprinkled with humour and anecdotes, against a backdrop of popular religion.

In the classic handbooks, the first church network is primarily attributed to the large monasteries that were located on the territory of present-day Luxembourg. The major role played by the landed gentry in the founding of churches is usually overlooked because it is unfortunately less well documented. At this time of year, Paul De Maeyer and the Schola Gregoriana Sainnensis have chosen music about Mary (the month of May has just passed) and the Veni Creator (the following week is Pentecost).
