On Sunday 18 January, the first concert mass of 2026 will take place at 10 a.m. in St Peter's Church in Turnhout, featuring the Pizzicanto choir. Pizzicanto is an established name in Turnhout's choral scene. This is not surprising, considering that Pizzicanto celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2023! Christiana Duyck founded the choir in 1993 and remains its conductor and driving force to this day. She can count on a group of singers who, like herself, value quality and perfection....Concert

Since at least 1495, the procession in honour of Saint Leonard has taken place on Whit Monday in the picturesque village of Sint-Lenaarts in the Noorderkempen. The life and deeds of Saint Leonard are central to this procession and are depicted with the help of some 650 participants, most of whom are children from local primary schools.
In addition to St. Leonard, this procession also includes veneration of the Virgin Mary and the Eucharist. -

The nativity scene takes up the entire choir. On a plateau, the nativity scene is set in the typical landscape of Sint-Martens-Voeren: a railway bridge with a moving train, a river with a working watermill, a church tower and many stuffed animals in the greenery between trees and bushes.
The stuffed animals are mostly young animals that died early. Of course, there are the ox, the donkey and the lambs, and since this year there is also a small black...Christmas in Sint-Martens-Voeren

Santons are the iconic image of Provence. Far from being merely folkloric, these small figurines represent everyday life in the countryside, bearing witness to the trades practised in the hills and lavender fields, village festivals and southern traditions. This rural imagery has become the backdrop for Christmas celebrations, restoring the mystery to itself, a Christmas embodied in everyday life. -
Every year, to be ready for the first Sunday of Advent, a team of volunteers from Lontzen spends two weeks setting up this large nativity scene in a tent next to St. Anne's Chapel in Lontzen Busch. It measures 8m x 3m and consists of various elements surrounding the nativity scene. Windmill and watermill, lake, craft workshops, village square, numerous characters, entrance to a mine gallery in the commune...
