Organ and carillon concert
02 June 2024 : 14.30 - 15.30The baroque Sint-Pieterskerk with Gothic choir provides the beautiful setting for a concert featuring Bart Jacobs, playing the 300-year-old Delahaye organ, and Dina Verheyden, playing the carillon, installed in 2017, in succession.
Bart Jacobs is organist-titularist of St Michael and St Gudula Cathedral in Brussels. Dina Verheyden is carillonneur at Onze-Lieve-Vrouw-over-de-Dijlekerk in Mechelen and at Sint-Pieterskerk in Puurs.

Description
Although the Sint-Pieterskerk in Puurs was built in different building phases, it forms a particularly harmonious whole.
The eye-catcher is the baroque tower from the 17th century, crowned with an ornate spire. The highest tower room has housed a carillon with 50 bells since 2017. The interior of the church contains an organ by Louis I de la Haye from 1723, fine 18th-century furniture by the architect and sculptor Willem Ignatius Kerricx and a neo-Gothic high altar.
