In 1859, the della Faille family donated a plot of land in Pijpelheide to build a church. The first chapel, in Gothic style, was built in 1865. The official establishment of the parish took place on 14 October 1875 through a royal decree and was ecclesiastically confirmed on 19 October 1875.
This was followed by several renovations over the years. The consecration of the church took place on 23 March 1956. Inside the church, behind the altar, you can admire a triptych made between 1873 and 1925. It was made using the old technique of canvas on metal, which is quite exceptional.
