A group exhibition featuring paintings, objects, sculptures, graphics, ceramics and photography.

The title of the exhibition refers to every child's exclamation when they finally see the sea after a much too long car journey or walk: the sea, the sea!

We also want to evoke that enthusiasm in every visitor.

But it is also about the link between Left Bank and the North Sea via our Scheldt.

Not only did and does Sint-Anneke-plage dream of a beach day for many thousands of visitors since the 19th century.

Because today's Left Bank was built on dredged river sand, you can still dig up shells and even shark teeth today if you put a shovel in the ground.

With this exhibition, we not only want to muse on the past and the memories of the sea, we also want to give every visitor the chance to write down their personal message for the future and put it in a bottle with a cork on top. We will not throw this 'message in a bottle' into the Scheldt and see where it ends up, but we will collect all these messages after the exhibition in a time capsule that we will seal and put away in the church's crawlspace to be found there in a few decades in 2050 (this is also the postal code of Linkeroever).

Open from 30 June to 29 September: every weekend from 2pm to 5pm.
