On the way to Wolwener Klaus, past the parish church to the Musée de l'Ardoise, immerse yourself in a history that ranges from the Middle Ages with the Wolfram legend to religious life during early industrialisation and the tradition of Saint Barbara, patron saint of miners.
The high altar made of oak wood, which was made in 1917 by the Welter brothers from Gilsdorf, features the Sorrowful Mother of God with the seven swords in her heart. It dates back to the 17th/18th century and comes from the old church.
There are also two reliefs made of slate, on the right the lady of Bondorf Castle and on the left her stepson Wolfram as a penitent hermit. The windows by Mett Hoffmann from the middle of the 20th century depict the fourteen holy helpers and the Wolfram legend.
