Description
Saint Roch's Chapel is located on the nproperty of the convent "Mariadal". This former church was built by the community of the fathers Bogarden in the second part of the 18th century. The construction, in combination with the inside stucco-work, is an example of late baroque style. The building is made of brick and the windows are framed by sandstone from Gobertange.
The edifice retains a remarkable rich interior decoration in Louis XVII style. It contains many works of interest: the organ case, the altar piece, the staions of the Christ (painted by E. Wante). Stained glass windows create a beautiful and luminous atmosphere. Worth seeing after restoring, it is a monument with historic value.

Stained glass windows
The ten stained glass windows in neo-Gothic style were put into place in the beginning of the twentieth century. The original grisaille windows were replaced in 1956 by yellow glass windows. They create a beautiful light incidence when the sun shines.
Tabernacle
The main altar (1783) is by the hand of the sculptor A.J. Gillis from Tienen. The forepart represents David receiving the holy bread from the hands of the High Priest Ahimelek to feed the hungry soldiers (O.T. 1 Sam 21:2-7)
Paneling
The oak paneling in Louis XVI style was made by H. Bette in 1793. Several religious trophies are carved into the large panels. The smaller panels are decorated with garlands.
Stations of the Cross
In the twentieth century a painted canvas of the stations of the Cross was attached to the smaller panels of the wainscotting. The stations of the Cross were painted by Ernest Wante.
Organ
The monumental organ was built in 1789 by master manufacturer Adrien Rochette from Nivelles. The cabinet and the balustrade of the organ loft are from the hand of Nicolas Bonnet, who also comes from Nivelles.
