Statue of Saint Anne

The 1st pillar on the right, statue of St. Anna, made in Breton style (1976).
Saint Anna is the patroness of our church and our parish. Presented with her daughter Marie, whom she introduces to reading the Bible, she accompanies visitors to our church. Her veneration developed at Anseremme following the counter-reformation following the extension of the veneration of the Blessed Virgin, her daughter.

Baptismal font (12th-17th century)

Made of Meuse blue limestone, they come from the old church.
Tank: cylindrical regional type (top: 0.31 m ; outside diameter: 0.85 m)
Support: large cylindrical central column (height: 0.35 m)
Base: quadrangular, old (top: 0.22 m), only Romanesque element (XII e c. ?) with ends damped by four leaves
Cover: in beaten brass (dinanderie) at Anseremme, according to the inside inscription: "ANSEREMM 1582".

Justice Stone

In a corner of the baptistery rises a mysterious monument of stone that some today call the ancient "justice stone" of Anseremme or its platform. It is a remarkable collection composed of an architectural motif, placed high on a column in the shape of an extended vase with a thickening in the middle (without fluting or frame). Small monument in blue stone, in the shape of a decorated hexagonal lantern with on three of the faces, figures in bas-relief forming a way of the cross. The importance of this small monument lies mainly in its originality.

Statue of the Sacred Heart

Sacred heart, in stone, by the Dinant sculptor Alexandre Daoust (+1949), creator of the famous "Assaut" of the French cemetery of the citadel of Dinant. Base in composite stone. This statue was realized in full war (1942). "Come to me, all of you who mourn and I will give you peace.

Under this statue as well as other statues (in polychrome plaster) : candlesticks (candle holders) in copper from 1698 and from the old church.

Processional Virgin (19th century)

The height of the body of the sculpture made of polychrome and wood is fixed like a kind of mannequin, composed of wooden slats or willow stalks woven together like a ring down, all this in the form of a pyramid. The visible parts are in wax, terracotta or plaster.

Most of them are permanently exhibited in the churches. Some are only used for the processions that only take place in a few places. This is the case in Anseremme. This is a Virgin with the Child with crowns. The sceptre of the Virgin and the globe, carried by the Child Jesus, have disappeared.

At the pillars of the altar: on the left the statue of the Virgin (XVII the century) and on the right the statue of Saint Joseph (XVII the century).

Sainte Anne est souvent représentée en train d'apprendre la lecture à sa fille Marie. Grand-mère de Jésus, elle met à l'honneur le rôle capital des grands-parents au sein de la famille.
