  • The church of Offerkerque is remarkable for its architecture, and was built in the continuity of realisations by the Benedictine monk of Wisques, and architect Dom Bellot, in the Isle of Wight, the Netherlands, Canada, and France. <p>The church is unique in its style in the Pas de Calais, and is among the realisations inspired by Dom Bellot, and realised by Joseph Philippe the architect of this church (with Gustave Vandenbergue) and a pupil and successor. </p><p>We recognise the mark of the ‘Bellot style’ in the openings in the shape of a mitre, characteristic of these architects. It is not surprising that some of the interior decoration comes from the monks of Wisques. </p>
