As was the case elsewhere in the country, the War of 1914-1918 destroyed numerous buildings. The church of Rongy was destroyed at the end of the war, on 20 October 1918. Fortunately, the greater part of the furniture was saved by the parish priest of the time, especially the principal altar of oak, dating from 1703 and measuring 13 metres long. People were able to replace it in the church whose reconstruction was completed in 1928.
At the entrance to the building one also discovers a funeral monument to the memory of François de Roisin, one of Napoleon’s officers, dead in 1812 during the Russian campaign.

The altar in baroque style - with the year 1703 on it - is approximately 13 meters high. It is made of oakwood and the intricate and deep wood carvings form an ensemble of great taste.
Underneath the central portico one can find a painting of the Adoration of the Magi, that could be attributed to a student of Van Dyck. A life-sized polychrome statue of Our Lady crowns the painting.
The alcoves consist of the shrines of Saint Simon of Cyrene and Saint Victor.
The side altar on the left side is of the same origin as the central altar. The rosary medallions were added by the countess of Romrée at the end of the 19th century. They were made in the studio of Adolphe-Joseph Dropsy, a furniture maker and sculptor who taught carpentry and sculpture lessons at the abbey of Maredsous.
The pulpit is in Louis XIV style. It was gifted to the Carmelite monastery by the House of Arenberg, just like the communion bench.
Contains several inscriptions (from left to right): ANNO (year) - SIÔP (Saint Joseph) - IHS (Iesus Hominum Salvator) - MAR (Mary) - TRSE (Therese, as in Saint Therese of Ávila) - MDCCI (the year: 1701).
Stained glass windows by glass painter Camille Wybo (1878-1937).
Left side aisle: Therese of the Child Jesus and the Holy Face, Saint Ghislain, Saint Anne, Saint Philomena, Saint Francis de Sales, Saint John-Baptiste de La Salle.
Right side aisle: Saint Henry, Saint Joan of Arc, Saint Cecilia, Saint Sebastian, Saint Paul the Apostle.
Transept: the Virgin gives the rosary to Saint Dominic and the Sacred Heart of Jesus appears to Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque.
