Basilica | 1134 | Gothic | Catholic Church
As part of the ‘Orgues de l'Aisne’ festival, the basilica welcomes organist Pierre Queval and soprano Evelina Mataczwska, who has travelled specially from Warsaw. Both enjoy international renown! The composers chosen for our concert were blind. This is our way of celebrating the 200th anniversary of the invention of tactile writing by Louis Braille. It is a wonderful opportunity to conclude the second day of Heritage Day in this basilica, consecrated under Louis XIII, with a concert on our 19th-century Merklin organ, which was completely renovated in 2017.
During Heritage Days, Brigitte DONNE (guide) offers a free tour of our beautiful Basilica linked to the history of Ismérie and the three knights.
