High altar with tabernacle

Simple portico-altar in painted wood. The sculpture that currently stands on top of the portico-altar, was initially placed central to the portico. The portico-altar was then crowned with a simple cross. Today, a painting of Saint Martin serves as an altar piece. The altar piece is flanked by pilasters in composite materials on which a pediment rests. Central to the pediment, one can see a winged angel head. Also the sides of the portico have been decorated by angel heads and ears of corn. The basis of the portico altar with altar block, the devotional candle stand, and tabernacle were kept modest.

Confessionals

Two oak confessionals with three roman arch openings and at the centre, a low door with a rectangular panel showing in each corner a tiny flower. The top of the tiny door is decorated with a bow with garlands. The three openings are flanked on both sides by a pilaster with composite materials. Above the roman arch openings, one can find a dentil toothed coving and profiled cornice.

Painting of Saint Francis with the newborn Jesus

Large painting on canvas by Father Andrew Bosteels (Léon Bosteels) (1938). One’s attention is drawn to the central figure of Saint Francis with tonsure, represented in habit and barefoot. In his arms, he carries the child Jesus wrapped in a white cloth. Around the duo, one can see a halo that illuminates the many bystanders. The figures are wearing colorful robes and are turning their gaze to Francis.
On Francis’s right side, one can also see a manger, the ox & donkey, and a sheep. In the background stands an altar with altar cross, candle holders, and a book. There are some additional attributes in the foreground.

Saint Francis, Jesus and Mary, and a self-portrait by painter Father Andrew Bosteels (Léon Bosteels) (1938)

Large painting on canvas. The self-portrait shows itself as a bust behind the kneeling figure of Saint Francis. Francis, with tonsure and clad in robes, kneels before Jesus. His left hand leans on a young sheep. With his right hand, he reaches for his head. His gaze is aimed at Jesus. Both figures are fully surrounded by a halo, which has a golden colour and lights up the entire painting. Gold-colored accents are also visible in the halos of the surrounding figures. Between Francis and Jesus stands Mary. The scene takes place outside, in a wooded area.

Reliquary with the relics of Saint Himelin

The reliquary consists of a rectangular volume with gable roof. Against the wooden panes, metal plates were placed that were decorated with gemstones in various colours. The decoration was designed to be symmetrical. To the decorative shapes, belong quatrefoil patterns and Celtic cross shapes. At the place where there is a keyhole at the front, one can see in the background a locket against a red background with the initials ‘SH’. The lid of the reliquary is topped by two transparent spheres with French lily pattern. The whole rests on four tiny claw feet. In the reliquary, there’s a wooden sealed box.

Organ

Wooden organ case with front, in one organ stop with three bays.The pipework is captured in two roman arches. Between and next to the arches, are pilasters with composite materials on which one can see a profiled cornice.The keyboard with one row of keys were placed under and perpendicular to the organ case. Above the keyboard, there are nine organ stop keys. Baluster with baluster-shaped supports.
