Description
This imposing brick building in Neo-Romanesque style was opened for worship in 1870.It has a tower with three levels. Inside, the walls have been repainted white giving it a soothing, bare, welcoming atmosphere.
Several of the furnishings have been highlighted and one is not surprised that it is ceramics, one of the old specialities of La Louvière that are so emphasised. Thus at the end of the left lateral nave is “The baptism of Christ” a ceramic by Ernest D’Hossche and above the altar in the left transept a ceramic depicting the resurrected Christ by Jean Estienne. The colourful stained glass windows are of a dominant blue.

Remarkable elements
West facade
The facade is decorated with a portal pierced by a third rosette and is topped by a three-level tower that lost its spire during the 1969 earthquake.
Stained glass windows
As we enter the church, we look beyond the white wall into the beautiful stained glass windows of the choir by the artist Fernand Crickx, master glassmaker from Brussels.
Ceramics
On the left, in the back chapel, interesting ceramic of the baptism of Christ ( ca 1955) by the artist Eugene d'Hossche (1912-1976).
Statue of Our Lady of Lourdes
On the left, the statue of Our Lady of Lourdes is surrounded by 2 altarpieces illustrating the apparitions and miracles.
Statues and altarpieces
Surrounding the statue of St. Anthony, 2 altarpieces illustrating the achievements of the saint's life, including his preaching to birds. On either side of the glass entrance door, 2 statues of Saint Barbara and Saint Eloi, all three patron saints of the region's industries. To the right of the choir is a statue of Saint Joseph, patron saint of the church.
Church Choir
In the early seventies, the church choir was modified following the Second Vatican Council. In a spirit of simplicity, only a Christ without cross adorns the white wall of the choir.
