A unique evocation of the winter solstice with baroque music from Europe and Central America. Under the direction of Luc Ponet, Baroque & more brings a programme full of musical discoveries and cultural dialogue.
Guest musicians Luiz Marquez (Mexico) and Carlos Costa (Cuba) play pre-Hispanic instruments, taking the audience back to the musical roots of the traditional winter solstice in Central America. Combined with European Baroque music performed by experienced Baroque musicians and vocalists, a unique synergy is created that beautifully reflects the symbolism of the winter solstice and the cosiness of December in the run-up to Christmas.
