Confessionals

Both confessionals (north and south aisle) date from the 17th century and are the work of the Surmont family from the city of Kortrijk. The compartments in the middle are respectively flanked by an Ecce Homo (Behold the Man) and Our Lady of Sorrows (northern confessional), Saint Ignatius and Saint Francis Xavier (southern confessional). They are further decorated with coats of arms, angel heads, and Jesus and Mary monogram.

Pensive Christ

Also called Christ in Distress. The Lord is awaiting the crucifixion. He wears a loincloth. The hands are bound. A beloved representation in the Middle Ages. The 16th century statue bears traces of polychromy.

Statue of Our Lady

In the chapel of Our Lady stands a statue of Mary from the 1700s. A chaplain said Mass to this altar twice a week. It was an early 14th century foundation.

Way of the cross

The fourteen stations are by the hand of Roseline Christiaens from the village of Saint-Denis. The constructions are from 2015. Every station was reduced to the essentials of what the Way of the Cross represents. Noteworthy are the depictions of the hands.

Stained-glass-windows

All the windows of the church are equipped with stained glass windows. Together they depict major parts of Christian salvation history. The windows in the choir and the side chapels date from the twenties and the sixties of the last century. The windows in the north and south aisle are 20th century. They are the work of Herman Mortier and Marie-Noëlle Hoet. At the back, one can find a modern work by the artist Lut Devogelaere called “Creation”.
