Sardinian singing is one of the most iconic forms of polyphonic music in the Mediterranean region. The vocal ensemble Cuncordu e Tenore from Orosei occupies a prominent place in the world of traditional Sardinian music thanks to the intensity of its performances and the uniqueness of its repertoire.

As faithful guardians of a musical heritage passed down by their ancestors, their repertoire comprises two distinct vocal forms: songs celebrating the Passion of Christ, known as ‘a cuncordu’, and ancestral pastoral songs, known as ‘a tenore’. It is characterised by complex harmonies, embellished with ornamentation, transpositions and glissando chords. Secular song, meanwhile, encompasses festive, dance and love songs. It is with pride that the singers of the Cuncordu e Tenore de Orosei carry on this centuries-old tradition.
