At 1.15 pm, we will hear Monique Daems playing the organ. Monique has played the accordion since childhood and successfully studied the organ under Jan Vuye, Iris Eysermans and Bart Wuilmus, going on to specialise for a further two years. She is currently the organist for our Maria Choir.
A delegation from the K.F. De Berthoutzonen must not be missing from this musical day. For years, our brass band has been bringing people together, uniting young and old during weekly rehearsals, regular performances and concerts that attract large audiences. The Berthoutzonen also provide memorable musical accompaniment during the annual procession. Concerts by a ‘brass ensemble’ and ‘saxophone quartet’ begin at 2 pm and 2.30 pm. At 4 pm, you can enjoy a concert by Christine Carré, a pianist and composer from Hallaar. She will be delighted to soothe you with the dreamy piano music from her latest album, WINGS. Be sure to take some time in between to enjoy the beauty our church has to offer!
As a country boy and a true ‘Haldernaar’ at heart, Filip Laeveren is fascinated by the history of our centuries-old church. He is keen to share his passion with others through a fascinating guided tour of our church, which starts at 3 pm.
