In 2025, there will be new offerings, including a Brazilian singer, a mezzo-soprano who performs the works of composer Barbara Strozzi, and Claire Lefilliâtre, well known at Mubafa for accompanying our Master Class. As always, there will be opportunities to socialise with the artists during breaks and meals. This year, the Italian film ‘Gloria’ (2024) will be screened at the Plaza in Hotton, preceded by a mini-concert given by two singers from the region and a harpsichordist.
The instrumental repertoire of the seventeenth century includes a large number of scores that are unique in their kind, whether they be rare instrumental assemblages, research into particular sonorities, representative compositions with striking effects, harmonic ruptures or surprising chromaticism. It may also be the only known instrumental composition by a composer of sacred music, or a piece of very high quality whose composer's anonymity precludes any claim to fame...
