This year, we are inviting “Muziekopluistering Heide De Nef” for a mini-concert from 2 to 3 p.m. Heidi De Nef and her husband Koen De Bels have been performing as the musical duo “Heidi en Koen” for several years. Koen plays the piano and Heidi sings and plays the cello or accordion. They both studied music at the Royal Conservatory in Brussels and have been professionally active in providing musical accompaniment for events ever since. You can also admire our church and its beautiful interior and art treasures. There is always someone on hand to provide you with information.

Description

The first Booischot chapel was built in the 15th century. Throughout the centuries, it was repeatedly rebuilt and enlarged. In 1856, the chapel was demolished and the construction of the current neo-Gothic church started. In the interior, we can still find several old works of art, which probably come from the former chapel. Most remarkable are the 18 obiits (mourning shields). For some years now, the church has had an antique neo-Gothic altarpiece, donated by Baron Ignace de Gruben. The restoration of the church was completed a few years ago.
