Description
Just two paces from the Meuse and not far from the Town Hall, this small church passes almost unnoticed in a narrow pedestrian street, which makes a view of the façade difficult. Formerly it belonged to the Society of Jesus but now it belongs to the regular canons of Latran.
It is in the form of a Latin cross with a Baroque interior painted in sombre colours. Saint Catherine of Alexandria is depicted above the main altar. The side altars are dedicated to the Sacred Heart and to Saint Joseph. There are several statues along the sides ,of which one of Saint Michael is attributed to Jean Del Cour a sculptor from Liege.

Gallery of baroque statues
Gallery of baroque statues from the late 17th and early 18th centuries. Created by Panhey de Rendeux, Cornélis Vanderveken and Jean Delcour, they form a representative ensemble of the late Liège Baroque. The statues of St. Catherine and St. Anthony have been restored and will soon return to their original place in the church (they were previously in the choir).
Funeral monuments
Funeral monument of Barbe Lucion and Adrien de Ghysels, Rendeux's masterpiece, as well as the various funeral slabs spread throughout the church, including the one of Wathieu de Liverlo, treasurer of the Prince-Bishop.
High altar
High altar, the largest in Liege, including the huge painting by Theodore Edmond Plumier (1671-1733) "Saint Catherine comforting philosophers".
Organ
Clerinx organ, classified, whose buffet was designed by the director of the School of Fine Arts in order to integrate into the church with the constraint of using as many parts of the old organ as possible for budgetary reasons.
Facade
The facade has recently been restored.
Sainte-Catherine / Dames de choeur - campagne 2021
Sainte Catherine représentée avec ses papyri plutôt que l'habituelle roue. Une sainte savante comme tant d'autres qui ont marqué l'Histoire.
"Dames de chœur " certes, martyres mais aussi et surtout savantes, de poigne et courageuses !
