Visitors to Saint Paul's Cathedral in Liège can now discover a rereading of the Passion with bronzes by Thierry Papart, accompanied by meditations by Michel Teheux: Ecce homo! Like chess pieces placed on a checkerboard, the 15 steles topped with bronzes by artist Thierry Papart, accompanied by meditations composed by Michel Teheux, immediately catch the eye.Slender, threadlike figures, undeniably reminiscent of Giacometti, draw the passer-by into a drama. That of a man, unjustly condemned. The bronzes help us to enter into the humanity of the Nazarene, which is the place where the divinity of the Saviour is revealed.The story of the Passion evoked here with restrained expressionism takes us from the spectator's voyeurism to questioning. We become actors and ask ourselves: Who is this man? Source: Cathobel
