    The chapel had become too small to accommodate the faithful properly and to celebrate services with dignity. Father Labbé wanted to provide his new parish with a more appropriate place of worship: he wanted a spacious, beautiful, welcoming and modern church. The walls (made of sandstone from the Ourthe) were completed in 1969. On 17 June 1973, the new church, dedicated to the Sacred Heart, was consecrated by Mgr André-Marie Charue, bishop of Namur.

    In addition to a self-guided tour with an explanatory booklet, the church of Notre-Dame d'Emael offers a discovery tour of the small details in the stained glass windows created by the glass painter Jacquemart de Tilff in 1968, which are linked to the great history of the Church. A question-and-answer sheet will punctuate this discovery tour.
