Lezing met als thema “Nieuw Testament: over tekstvarianten, verschillende vertalingen en betekenisverschillen” door Kris De Boel en Kristoffel Demoen.
In this lecture, both speakers will elaborate on the challenges exegetes face when trying to translate the New Testament from Greek into our language. They will do so on the basis of a few passages from the New Testament. After all, different translations lead to different meanings, and sometimes to major conflicts between proponents and opponents of a translation.
During this lecture, Kris De Boel (teacher of Greek at Sint-Bavohumaniora Gent) and Kristoffel Demoen (professor of Greek at UGent) will guide us through this fascinating subject matter in a way that requires absolutely no knowledge of Greek. You can register for the lecture via sintstefanus.melsen@gmail.com
During this organ concert, Chris will play compositions by Heinrich Scheidemann, Abraham van den Kerckhoven, Claudin de Sermissy and works from a recently discovered 16th-century manuscript in Gdànks (Poland), among others, on the historic Van Peteghem organ (1834).
Concert with Bernard Foccroulle, director of the Munte in Brussels for many years and a gifted organist and composer, together with musical couple François Fernandez (baroque violin) and Kyung Kim Yun (violin).
