Like many activities that take place indoors, our Open Church Day of 5 and 6 June in the Mariakerke Our Lady Church will not proceed in the usual way. We choose to let the visitors of the church "discover" individually in and around our parish church. This is possible during three months...
From Saturday 5 June onwards everyone is welcome every afternoon. At the back of the church you can find a simple brochure with text and explanation about a number of remarkable elements in our church. The intention is to have a look at them on the spot and to solve some simple questions. You can put the answers in a box in the church or mail them to firstname.lastname@example.org.
We will let this "discovery tour in and around the church" continue until 8 September, the feast of the Nativity of Mary, the name of the Church of Our Lady in Mariakerke. Welcome every afternoon (when there are no services). Among the participants with correct answers we raffle off beautiful photo books about the church. We wish you a fun and instructive voyage of discovery.
