This autumn, the Centre d'Art Sacré de Lille continues to see the Passion in colour and after the colour blue it offers visitors the opportunity to (re)discover the Passion of Christ ... in RED! Thanks to this pictorial theme, it continues its mission to highlight the richness of its collection; The Passion of Dunkirk - Delaine Collection. These paintings and sculptures always speak to us of the dark and suffering Humanity of the 20th century and of this post-war generation which aspires to a future radiating with peace.
These artists, most of whom are atheists or agnostics, are inspired by passages from the Gospels of the Passion of Christ to present us with a universal and timeless theme, that of the suffering experienced in the flesh by every being in his or her condition as a human being, while at the same time committing us to the future with an optimistic and hopeful view of our humanity.
