The meaning and conservation of religious wood sculpture

A wonderful exhibition showing the origins and significance of the many statues of saints that can be seen in our Catholic churches. How can we identify the saint represented? Why is this saint still so popular today? Why is he or she invoked? How are wooden statues made? How are they protected from the ravages of time? All this, and a thousand other questions, will be answered in 12 abundantly illustrated panels. As an added bonus, there's a special feature on some of the saints who are particularly popular in our villages.
