Church | 1689 - 1715 | | Catholic Church
We would be delighted to welcome you and show you around this building, a pearl of late Baroque architecture with undeniable charm, set on its promontory in the middle of the cemetery. We'd be delighted to tell you all about the history of this unconventional building, which has been listed in its entirety since 1935. It comprises three distinct elements: the tower, the nave, its three aisles and the choir, a harmonious blend of tufa stone and brick. Each element has its own slate roof.
Once inside this veritable jewel, you'll discover even more about the masterly work of the parish priest Melchior Alexandre Verdin, which began in the late 17th century and led to the creation of the church as we know it today. You will also meet other exceptional men and women. Saint Julienne de Cornillon will be waiting for you, as will a captain in the armies of Louis XV, mortally wounded at the Battle of Rocour in 1746.
We look forward to meeting you. The Lantin Church Warden.
