The church was built in 7877, in brick, in an unoriginal neo-Gothic style. The tower was not added until later: the original building was topped only by a simple wooden spire sitting directly on the roof.
The bell has a diameter of 64 centimetres and weighs 172 kilos with its mount. Fortunately, it escaped confiscation by the occupying forces during the two world wars.
The original bell tower was a simple wooden spire sitting directly on the roof. In 1912, when it was showing signs of disrepair, it was replaced by the present bell tower, which is less tapered and built of brick.
In 1989, a family in the parish had the old enamelled iron clock (operated by a weight system) replaced - in the strictest anonymity - by another of the same size (1.10 m), illuminated and controlled remotely. It also financed the electrification of the bell.
