'What if?' - A nod to the impossible
Slide show, presence of Swiss, organ music, expo....
02 June 2024 : 09.00 - 17.00We will start the day with a celebration of Mass at 9am. Afterwards, you can meet the Swiss, watch a slide show on a variety of events within the parish. An organist will play different genres of music with the addition of violinists. There will also be a walk through the church with speaking examples of thinkers and doers.

Description
A parish was established at Heist-Goor in 1873. A temporary church was built. In 1877-1879, the definitive church was built to designs by Leonard Blomme. The brick used came from the local brickworks in Kwade Plas. Most of the church furniture was donated by Baroness Eulalie de Terwagne, then resident of Ten Bos Castle.
A new high choir and new side choirs were built in 1951-1952. The side aisles were also enlarged.
This is a south-facing three-aisled cruciform basilica in sober neo-Gothic style with a square tower attached to the right of the façade. Works of art and church furniture are mainly from the 4th quarter of the 19th century.
